There's a big difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen. Chemical sunscreen must first penetrate your skin to provide protection, while mineral sunscreen forms a protective film.

The mineral particles are too large to actually penetrate your skin and will therefore not cause any damage or have a hormone disruptive effect.
